When Glenn and I moved to West Sacramento last summer, we couldn’t have picked a better spot. We have great neighbors on either side of us and on one side is this lovely family… Chris, Zeina and their adorable son George. George is the sweetest boy and has no fear of animals; he spent half of this shoot chasing a squirrel halfway around McKinley Park; and when my dog Mugsie barks incessantly at him, he takes it as an invitation to play! It was so much fun following this loving family around for a little while, we’re so grateful to have you guys next door…..

Portraits in the Park 2011!

I was honored to participate in Portraits in the Park 2011 which was one of many fundraisers that raise funds for Bridges of Promise; a non-profit organization which provides education, clean water and proper facilities to an ever growing group of Tanzanian orphans. My wonderful friend Sandra Fazzino, a fellow photographer and die hard foodie, is one of the co-founders of the organization and is the force behind the daunting task of organizing 30 plus families to photograph for the event. This was Portraits in the Park’s 3rd year, and it continues to be one of the most fun fundraising activities I could think of! The families who participate pay a minimum donation of $75.00 and receive a 30 minute session with a photographer as well as 5 prints and digital files of the best images from the session. From year one it has been a success and I hope to be able to donate my time and services to this wonderful cause for many years to come…. Here are some of the images from the day!!

Naima has grown up soooo much since my session with her and her parents last December! She is one of the most hilarious almost-three-year-olds that I know…. And cute? Um, yeah. She was certainly the star of this session, but she let her parents in for a few shots at the end.

Athena & Josh are two super loving parents to little Owen and are soon to welcome a new baby into their family… Josh’s parents were in town and that was a good excuse to get the whole clan together for a family portrait. We took photos at their home in their beautiful and HUGE backyard! That expanse of grass would make my dog so jealous!
